What a great kick off with our move to Lismore High School last Sunday! We can be very thankful to God for how everything came together. Lots of people commented on how the look and feel of everything was so fresh, welcoming and user-friendly, building a great environment for our fellowship and mission in the name of Jesus. It was encouraging to see so many people there for our first day in our new Sunday home. You could sense the excitement that at last we have room to grow. So let’s keep praying that God will continue to work among us by the power of his Word to build his church! 

Thanks to everyone who worked so hard in the lead-up to the move. Special thanks goes out to the many people serving in ‘behind the scenes’ but absolutely vital roles: the set-up team, pack-up team, parking team… as well as other teams like creche, kids church, 78C, welcoming, music…  One team upon which falls great demand in the new venue is the sound team, so be sure to offer them your encouragement.

One task for this week is to bring together all the feedback from our first Sunday and do some tweaking to make things work even better. Please leave some comments here if you have any feedback or constructive thoughts along these lines. It’ll be a steep learning curve in the early weeks as we make the most of this great opportunity, from smoothing out background ministry like setup and packup… to more relational issues of welcoming, hospitality, and building of true friendships in Christ. Our ‘connect. grow. serve.’ series over the next 3 weeks will help us see what God’s Word has to say about that. 

On a final thought, let’s remember the privilege of being able to use the school. Lismore High have been wonderfully accommodating to us. Let’s make sure we look after the venue in every way, so that in all things we bring honour to the name of Jesus.
