Love My Church

November 1st, 2007 · 11 Comments

Well its about time I logged a blog, and while that doesn’t sound like a particularly pleasant thing to do, it will be great to share some thoughts and ideas over the coming months.

We recently unveiled our new church mission statement: connect. grow. serve. While it has been terrific to focus on that, its amazing how quickly we’ve forgotten what our theme was for 2007. So, here’s a little video to help us reminisce

As we think about what transformation means for our lives and in our church (and even to Christmas) it all comes back to that four-letter word: love. This is something we’ll definitely be seeing as we head further into Romans and particularly into chapter 13.I plan to upload a fair bit of video over coming months - so keep coming back to check (and interact with this blog).

I think you should edit out the angry man - he’s obviously got some issues…

    …joking…

Thanks Peter, and allow me to express my appreciation to Wade for the starting picture of this video. Really. Yes, there are issues…

Wade, nice job! I can now officially say that I star in a youtube video along with many other people from the church family that I love…LOVE MY CHURCH!

I gotta admit, I was a bit moved by watching that clip. It’s great to be a part of the family that our church is - not just a random bunch of people, but a family. Jesus loved us so we can love each other.

@Steve Cree the preview image is generated by taking the frame at about the 2 minute mark. You can select one (if I remember correctly) but this one looks default - unlucky? Funny but.

Hi Wade - great video! I too quickly forgot the theme of “love my church” (even with a poster right next to my desk). I think it’s pretty tops how the theme fits snug with the “serve” part of the new mission statement though - how loving the body of Christ shows in many practical ways of service. Am looking forward to some more Wadetube.

Nice work Wade. This is the second time I’ve watched this video toady (Jill and I watched it earlier…and had a laugh at her enthusiastic ‘love my church’).
I really do love my church (even if I didn’t make it on the video…stupid having to leave church camp to go to work!).
The one great thing about being at uni so long (and I did say ‘one’) is that I have the privilege of being part of a fantastic church family.
Here’s to (at least) another year of being a part of the amazing SCPC family!

Speaking of Christmas - how did you get Santa to agree with being on our “Love My Church” video?

as everybody knows, Santa’s got heaps of time on his hands at that time of year. And besides, even Santa needs a church to love…

I love the ‘Love my Church’ theme… It’s so friendly yet challenging

Mitch, you personify “Love my church”. It helps me to love my church too.
