In this bible talk from Romans 12:9-21 by Steve Cree, we continue to dig deeper into the TRANSFORMATION God’s mercy in Jesus brings to our lives. It starts with transformed RELATIONSHIPS. And that requires transformed ATTITUDE. It’s about renewed minds. It’s about renewed attitudes. That’s what it takes for renewed relationships.
Key Verse
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves.
Romans 12:10

The last couple of talks have really challenged me to think, and then act, on how I treat others as a result of God’s mercy. How easily relationships get placed on the back burner while I waste time in front of telly and internet, often not even really enjoying it, but thinking ‘what else is there to do?’. I was reminded of the latest telstra bigpond add, the one withe the network home, each family member in their own room, logged onto the internet, not interacting with each other at all, and the catch phrase ‘We all get on when we all get on’. In our culture, a happy family is one that can all do their own thing, are isolated from each other and not have to interact or serve each other. As Christians, we’re to offer an alternative to self centred loneliness through warm relationships, having time for others, caring. I’m challenged to get offline now and spend time with a brother.

this talk really touch me. it helped me get more clarity on why i become a Christian in the first place!
my sister is a devout Muslim and Islam can sometimes seem attractive. but hearing and seeing that because of Gods mercy, through Jesus death, we can now have transfomation brings me joy.
we no-longer have to be like what is said in Rom1- evil doer, full of malice and hatred.
we can now love through Gods mercy and live transformed lives.
Praise God for this.
How Great is our GOD!?

Hi there,
Just like to say my friend Dennis from Brisbane really enjoyed the talk by Steve. He took up the offer of a free CD copy of the talk to take home for this fiancee (they are both Christians).
Brian Grey suggested at Bible Study that the Kids Talk should be video taped and put on the Internet, which I think is a great idea. I don’t think it would need to be high quality, but it could benefit a other churches and people in understanding and remembering “the big idea” of the talk.
Thanks again for the leader’s notes. I found them helpful as well as encouraging!
Regards,
David

It’s great to hear how God’s word is impacting so many of us. Yep Mark, you said it brother - our God is great.
David - Good suggestion about the kids talks - its a little more involved taking a video each week - but we should look into it, perhaps down the track a little.
Interesting observation about that ad Ryan - but because I dont watch television, I haven’ t seen it. ;0) Unfortunately, the sad reality is that too much of our world is like that. Our church should never be like that - we don’t meet together to maintain our own private bubbles with God. We meet together to be as one. And as you say, we do this by sharing our lives with each other. May God continue to transform our minds and lives by his mercy.
