SCPC Podcast: Perfectly United Talk 9, One Judge

March 30th, 2008 · 1 Comment

In this bible talk from 1 Corinthians 4:1-13 by Wade Iedema, we see Paul bringing his arguments from the last few chapters of 1 Corinthians together, both defending his ministry of the gospel of Christ and re-asserting God as the judge he and all others will be accountable to for their ministry of that gospel. What matters is the divine court not the human court: what God thinks not what people think.

Key Verse

Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

1 Corinthians 4:2

Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 4:1-13

Outline:

1. human court
2. divine court

Man studying the word of God can be painful/convicting its so easy to flow with with the world criticizing those around us and saying this person is better at doing this but for me this only builds up bitterness inside. The freedom in knowing that God is the only judge has taken away that bitter tongue of mine it has stopped me from causing bush fires , i know i will stuff up now and then but I’m learning that encouraging others in their walk with God is far more beneficial then putting them done. My pursuit in life is now after Gods own heart, seeing others grow in the knowledge of Christ and maturing together as brother and sisters in Christ.
