  1. For me this talk was great . I have not had a well day for over 20yrs hearing Ros speak about her journey and your parents own struggles their responses were so beautiful and encouraging to me.
My mind forgets a lot of every day things but it never forgets what Jesus done for me the suffering He went through to bring me back into a right relationship with Him.

Learning to respond in suffering the way God desires me to has been a big learning curve for me and a big struggle but it has given me freedom in knowing that God cares for me and that this time is short and I need to take every oppurtunity to share the gospel as the time is short.
Thanks Pete glad you are my brother.

  2. What a great encouragement to keep our eyes on the full healing already given to us in Jesus. When i think about the undeniable fact that we will experience more sickness and pain as we get older, I don’t have to be afraid anymore, because of the good God can use it for – ie to help me trust him more and more. Thanks for the really clear explaination of God’s word Pete, glad that Maynard(?) didn’t have the last say.

  3. Yeah very encouraging talk brother. It also must have been very engaging because you had my full attention during the grand final.

  4. Awesome talk Pete.
Thanks so much for bringing the message across so clearly.
There is so much room for ‘making the bible say what you want it to say to support your fruity ideas’ with health. People do take verses out of context and twist them around.
My mum went in an ambulance early Sunday morning cause she was having chest pains. Dad had called me about half an hour before music practice to tell me that she was in hospital, so this talk (and all the songs) really struck a chord with me. Here’s praying that mum will see how fragile her life is and start thinking about where her hope lies. She’s not going to live forever, she is mortal, and she needs to see that her greatest need is not having a healthy heart, but to have forgiveness from the disease of sin. I hope that she sees that soon.
    Thanks again Pete.

  5. Many thanks for the encouragement guys. The Bible passages – especially psalm 103 – were a great encouragement for me to wrestle with too.

I’m sure most people in our church family have suffered – or are suffering – or are close to somebody suffering from a ‘withering’ body, and sadly, there’s pretty much a guarantee that it’ll get worse. But it’s great to know God’s bigger and better than it all – and that being with him forever is up ahead real soon.
