new song: grace abounds (by peter yock & katharine crossle)

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved – and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness to toward us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:4-7)

oh the riches of your mercy
and the greatness of your love
lovingkindness overflowing
at the cost of Jesus blood

oh the wonder of salvation
and the weight of anchored hope
grace abounds to me, a sinner
at the cost of Jesus blood

alive, lifted up from the grave
released, freed from the grip of death
raised with Christ, with him upon his throne
perfect life, gifted beyond all hope

oh the riches of your mercy
and the greatness of your love
lovingkindness overflowing
at the cost of Jesus blood

oh the wonder of salvation
and the weight of anchored hope
grace abounds to me, a sinner
at the cost of Jesus blood

your grace, eases my brokenness
your love, pours into my despair
warming light, brightens my blackest day
ceaseless hope, strengthens me for today

oh the riches of your mercy
and the greatness of your love
lovingkindness overflowing
at the cost of Jesus blood

oh the wonder of salvation
and the weight of anchored hope
grace abounds to me, a sinner
at the cost of Jesus blood

my heart, longs for the day we’ll see
Jesus, reigning eternally
glorious joy, salvation of my soul
endless life, heaven and Christ my home

oh the riches of your mercy
and the greatness of your love
lovingkindness overflowing
at the cost of Jesus blood

oh the wonder of salvation
and the weight of anchored hope
grace abounds to me, a sinner
at the cost of Jesus blood

me too – will be great to spend a few days celebrating God’s grace together – including in song

  3. Trev Voltz says:

Hey Yocky great song ,gospel direct words. But for me sounds more like a song for a performance by a band or individual but not a church song for me its missing something. Maybe I am being fussy.

  4. Peter Yock says:

interesting Trev – guess we’ll see after a few months of giving it a crack congregationally. thanks for your thoughts.

  5. Trev Voltz says:

Well I’ve listen to it a lot more and have sung along with it and its grown on me anad has changed my mind to being good for in church. So often we have songs that move at a faster pace we don’t get to think about the words being sung ,this song gives you the reflection time you need and it will be great to sing as a family of Gods people.
