Today’s talk helped me think about generosity and see that I can find it hard to know how to view money and wealth and possession as a Christian. I had a great talk with are you with at morning tea about the sings discussing how we can use money and possessions for God. In the past I have seen money as a bad thing and thought Christians should not have money. But recently I’ve become to see questions can have money and possessions and we should use them to serve God answered Christians.

I was wondering from the talk about a woman welcoming single men into her house. This seemed inappropriate. Was she older than them or was there some difference in age? Why was this okay for her and for the Male disciples to do? Wouldn’t this have looked scandalous to the general society or Lydias neighbours? And therefore being a bad witness?
I know I can find it hard to know how to relate to women in the church and often feel confused about what is appropriate and inappropriate.

I had a great talk with a youth at morning tea about these things and we discussed how we can use money and possessions for God. In the past I have almost virwed money as a bad thing and thought Christians should not have lots of money. But recently I’ve started to see tgat christians can have money and possessions and should use them to serve God and other Christians.

Another thing from this morning is that I was wondering from the talk about a woman welcoming single men into her house. This seemed inappropriate. Was she older than them or was there some difference in age? Why was this okay for her and for the Male disciples to do this? I don’t think there is enough info to say if she was single, widower or married we do know that she had a household of people so14 One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul’s message. 15 When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home. “If you consider me a believer in the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my house.” And she persuaded us. I guess in one way she was not alone with the disciples. It’s not the only account in the bible of a woman offering her home to others Rahab in Joshua was the place the spies went to and she was a prostitute.
