Fixing Stuff

Last weekend about 80 SCPC blokes – young and old – gathered out at Afterlee for our annual blokes go bush men’s weekend. It was a weekend that many will remember for the heat during the day and the wind at night, the good food, the spectacular sliding (hope that wrist is healing up OK Sam!), and hopefully, most importantly, the challenge from God’s word to do the hard work of fixing broken relationships – extending the “hand of grace” wherever necessary – at church, at home, at work… – just as God has done with us in Christ.

How’s it going men?

  1. David says:

    Hi there,

The thing that has reassured me over the last few weeks as we have been discussing forgiveness is that I’m not alone in finding it difficult to forgive, and that it is normal to have to choose to forgive the same person for the same thing regularly. When we looked at Eph 2:15-16 last week it got me thinking about how I need to not measure others with the law, because then that will be the standard I will be measure by, instead of grace. We really need the Spirit’s power to reveal to us just how gracious and loving God is.
