Case for Christ_PostcardThe Case for Christ

Have you got any friends who are skeptical about Christianity? This could be a great chance to get them thinking about the evidence. Screening at Lismore Cinema at 7pm on Saturday 20th May, the Case for Christ is based on the true story of the award-winning investigative journalist and atheist Lee Strobel who attempts to disprove the newfound Christian faith of his wife with unexpected, life-altering results. This is a special one-off screening that we’ve organized with Lismore Cinemas. Tickets are $14.05 and can be booked online at lismorecaseforchrist.com

The annual North Coast Christian Convention is on 27-28th May at Evans Head. David Cook and Steve Young will be helping us to understand and experience the transforming power of the gospel. Come for a day or the whole weekend and remember that our regular gatherings won’t occur on NCCC weekend. The easiest way to register is to hop online at www.mynccc.org.au.

Food for Thought

Food for Thought Dinners

At Homegrown in January one of the interesting ideas our speaker Paul Sheely shared with us was to hold a “food for thought” dinner in a local pub. The formula is pretty simple: invite your friends to share a meal, listen to a 15 minute talk on a topic like “the importance of doubt” (its meant to be a little intriguing!) and follow this up with discussion around the table over dessert. We’ve decided to give it a shot and aim to do two dinners a year, replacing two of the Equip nights. We’ll also be running Christianity Explored (a course to help your friends put their faith in Jesus) in the weeks following each of the dinners. We haven’t found a venue yet for the dinners so please pray that we’d find somewhere suitable. We’re aiming for Tuesday 6th June for our first dinner. Start praying and planning for who you’ll invite!
