Homegrown – Friday Fun Activities

From 10:45am-12:15pm on Friday 20th January, our children and youth will have the opportunity to participate in Big Group Games run by Vertec. All participants will need enclosed shoes, sleeves on shirt, hat & water bottle.

Big Group Games:

Giant beach balls, hilarious team competitions and challenges! Big Group Games is a great session to promote a sense of fun and excitement. It is a mixture of team competitions and high energy games.
We are mindful of students who are prone to sensory overload or worried about how to fit in, we
allow these students to float (with plenty of encouragement) until they feel comfortable to dive into this
fun, stress free games session.

All participants will need to complete this Medical and Consent Form prior to the activity.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON FUN!

From 1-4pm on Friday 20th January, there will be opportunity for small groups to participate in two experiences across two sessions. This year, we have booked the Giant Swing and Archery. All participants will need enclosed shoes, sleeves on shirt, hat & water bottle.

Giant Swing
This monster of a swing will be a highlight of camp. Participants will pull their friends to the top of the
Giant Swing some 18m high! They then count down as the “flyer” prepares to release the swing
and plunge through the air at eye watering speed! It’s an exhilarating experience but it is not for
everyone. For those participants, and leaders, who are not fond of heights, we tailor the
experience to suit their level of challenge. Pushing these few outside their comfort zone doesn’t
mean forcing them to the top. The participant can choose to release the swing wherever they
feel comfortable, making the Giant Swing a positive and encouraging experience for everyone.

Please note this experience is appropriate 10 Years+, however, the harness must fit safely, if it doesn’t, you may not be able to participate.

Archery, using 15 pound bows, participants test their accuracy, patience and ability to control their
emotions all while learning a new skill. Starting with a thorough safety and instruction brief,
participants have multiple turns shooting until they have mastered the basics of archery. Once
confident, they can begin to play competitions and try their skills at shooting balloons off the
targets. Throughout the session students learn a little about the origins or archery and how it has had
influence on common terms and sayings that we still use today.

Please note this experience is appropriate for 8 Years+, but a parent must be present.

All participants will need to complete this Medical and Consent Form prior to the activity.

Places are strictly limited, so please reserve your place here (one form per participant).

These activities are free of charge and spectators are very welcome!

For those not participating or spectating in these activities you may choose to enjoy some free time around Mt Tamborine.

Don’t despair if you miss out on one of these afternoon activities, there will also be a waterslide from 4-5:30pm that everyone can participate in!
