I must confess my Bible reading and diet (stop laughing…. I have put on weight… once) took a beating through the Christmas/new year period, but I did get back on the saddle and ride to the finish line. Though now I comment a week after the final day of 2010, but I thought it would still be helpful to say a couple of last things.
For anyone who is still out there, its great you joined us on this journey. Sorry for our assistance (daily staff reflections) that waned on and off through the year. But our prayer is that you were encouraged to hear the great story of salvation. The story of our king, the lion of Judah, the lamb that was slain, Jesus, the one who rescued us and secures our place in his kingdom.
May we now join in the next great journey together, life. Let us look ahead to our mighty kings return. Now doubt, our courage will wane on and off through that journey. But let us continue with confidence knowing our king is with us, transforming us by his spirit, and he has given us each other, to encourage one another as that final day approaches:
12 “Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. 14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
