humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:21-22
What a great exhortation! As it would have been to the people who it was written to, struggling to live in a fallen world.
The way they were to persevere was to reject double minded living. The needed to be decisive and the way they must do this, is by living in line with the wisdom of God, found in God’s word.
So the letter is filled with the practical out workings of theology, hearing the word and doing what it says.
So as a former PE (Physical Education) teacher, I need to make the move to being a PT (Practical Theology) teacher or just a PT student will do.
