Our 6pm Sunday evening Gathering will be at our church hall, 8-10 Park Avenue, East Lismore.

We continue our 2021 Holiday Series ‘A King Like the Other Nations’ from the Old Testament book of 1 Samuel.

Henk Breugem will open up the Bible to 1 Samuel chapter 14 to see how Saul’s son Jonathon’s trust in God points us to Jesus who trusted God to the fullest extent; with his life. We’ll be asking the question: How much do we trust God and rely on him?

If you’re unable to join us on Zoom this Sunday, you’re welcome to listen to an audio recording of the Bible talk here on our website.

KIDS CHURCH THIS SUNDAY

Dear Families,

We pray that despite lockdown, holidays and juggling commitments you are finding moments of rest in our good God’s love for us.

Psalm 46 continues to be a helpful reminder and comfort to me – God is unshakeable, cares so much for us and perfectly achieves this through Jesus.

Psalm 46

1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.

6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

7 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

8 Come and see what the Lord has done, the desolations he has brought on the earth.

9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire.

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

11 The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

As Peita reminded us last week, over the next few weeks the children won’t have a Zoom room after our Sunday Zoom gathering but there are some things below that your family might like to do together.

For this week you could watch Kids’ Talks with Coli n – Episode 2 | Compassion Australia, discuss the content, pray and complete the accompanying Nothing_Takes_God_By_Surprise_Colouring_Sheet.pdf.

Here is also an optional craft idea – create a poster for your wall that reminds you that God is in control of everything, ALL of the time!

Please continue to pray for the kids teams as they take a break over the holidays and prepare for Term 4.
