  1. Trevor Voltz says:

I am not very good with words that is explaining what I am trying to say so here I go again.

As a church we have just heard this message recently but I wonder how many of us have moved to change our old way of life to Christ being our infinite value/treasure or did you say if I do this or do that maybe that will make God happy. In the recent past I know that I would have followed the last one.
Tim Chester say’s”Compared to him, everything else is worthless. To gain Christ, it’s wort losing everything.
Not only that. But when we grasp this, when we see the value of Christ, when we see our wonderful inheritance, when he’s our treasure, then we’ll give up everything with joy.
What does Jesus say Matthew 13:44
44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

‘ Some of you will die in the service of Christ. That won’t be a tragedy.Treasuring life above Christ is a tragedy’ says John Piper We need to let go of what we perceive as treasures and take hold of the only treasure Jesus.
The story of Rashidi a Pakastani man who was Muslim who became a christian, rejected by his family, his wife was forced to leave him and his daughter. He doesn’t ask for pity ,as he says’ to pity me would be to miss the joy i have experienced.’He knows Jesus is with him,he knows he is not abandoned by Christ, he knows Jesus is all he need’s and that its more than enough.
Rashidi’s own words’ I have been blessed beyond measure, far greater than I deserve and more than I could have hoped’
    Mark 8:35
35 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.

Father I pray that we let go of the things of this world and cling to the glory of Jesus.
