The Pastors’ Post

Welcome to The Pastors’ Post, an update for life at Southern Cross.

How has your week of lockdown been!? It can be a difficult time, can’t it? Many of our routines have been disrupted and it’s an unsettling period all round.

For the weekend, our Sunday scattering will be on ZOOM. You can head to the website to see the info or click here in the text in the blog. Remember, for our ZOOM webinar, you can see the panellists, but we cannot see you. So feel free to pass on to friends or family who may be experiencing this lockdown also.

Tonight, Youth heads to ZOOM. Please pray for the youth team, that in the midst of this challenging time they would know God’s Word doesn’t return empty, so they can be encouraged their efforts are not in vain.

Christianity Explored headed to ZOOM last night but, pending restrictions, will head to Park Ave next Thursday night. The Christianity Explored weekend away is still booked in for Camp Koinonia in Evans Head. The booking details are here in the blog also.

How is God weaving our story through all this? It’s very hard to know isn’t it? God willing, we will join together September 12th for Celebration Sunday – an opportunity to stop and reflect: to see how is our Father God is collectively weaving our story.

Let me read from Isaiah 55:10-11:

10 As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Thanks for tuning in to The Pastors’ Post.
