1 Chronicles 22:2 – 26:19
Well I hope you like reading genealogies. In this mornings reading I reckon there is a real sense of excitement in the air. God’s promises to his people are coming to fulfillment. Solomon is about to build a great temple and the people are in their land, living in peace. Although David will always be remembered as the greater King, under Solomon Israel reach the ‘Golden Age” of their history. But how long will it last? We know not long – but I would really like to know what the people of the day were thinking. I wonder what the people of the day made of Chronicles 22:10?
He is the one who will build a house for my Name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’
