Women’s Retreat 2009!

Last year, the women’s retreat tried something different and held the “retreat” at Park Avenue. It was a great weekend hearing from women in our church about how God’s grace has transformed their lives and how they are serving in their workplaces, their homes and in the university. We also watched two talks by Claire Smith, from the Equip conferences.

This year at the SCPC Women’s Retreat, we have two locals sharing with us about our relationship with God as our heavenly Father, how we respond to his grace and how we have healthy connections with God and others.

On the Friday night, our metro trainee, Jasmine Mathie, will be speaking to us from the story of the lost sons in the Gospel of Luke. We will be thinking about God’s heart and character from the Gospel of Luke as well as how our lives can show our response to God’s grace. It will be a great opportunity to think about how our hearts often treasure things of this world and how God can transform our hearts to reflect his heart for the lost.

On Saturday, Susan Paterson, Christian Counsellor, will be presenting an interactive seminar “Healthy Connections” looking at connecting with God, with ourselves and with others.

Over the weekend, we will also hear from women in our church and how they came into a relationship with God and how they are seeking to reflect God’s heart in their every day life and ministry.

It’s going to be a great weekend to get together under God’s word and encourage one another in living for our Heavenly Father.
